I had asked him to help me do a bit of troubleshooting, he helped with that quite well. Then he had a couple holey tshirts he wanted to darn using the machine. I thought I could have done a fine job by hand, so I told him if he wanted to do it on the machine, he was welcome to. One was a particular shade of purple that we ended up buying matching thread for, and one was black. I'd had some blue-indigo thread on there, that worked for several of the projects I've been working on lately.
Instead of using an empty bobbin for the purple thread, and the black bobbin that I already had, he layered purple and black thread on top of the blue.
And while he has many admirable virtues, I want to throw more things at him now than I do when he sings the theme from Gilligan's Island in the style of Bob Dylan.

Wed, March 11, 2009 - 2:23 PMHe already has two - one from his aunt (which is an antique and might not actually work at this point) and one from his mother. I felt silly bringing mine into the mix, but at least I know where my instruction book is.

Sat, March 21, 2009 - 9:04 PMVery funny post. I let my hubby carry my portable downstairs for me, but that's it! What I would really like to hear is the Gillian's Island theme in Bob Dylan fashion! Have a good week. Zelda99

Re: Why I may never let my man near my sewing machine again
Mon, May 18, 2009 - 7:42 PMI do this all the time and at work too. It wont do any harm to your bobbins. You might not like it though, if you need your innermost layer and have to go through 2 colors first.
