    <summary type="html">drayamonster, you're a genius.  i took the thing apart and cleaned cleaned cleaned, put it back together and used it in a so-so condition for a spell, then took it apart again and cleaned it all again.  now it's like new.&#xD;

    <summary type="html">Make sure the bobbin screw isn't too loose or too tight as well.&#xD;
&#xD;
Check your needle &amp;amp; thread (I would re-thread the machine) as sometimes that leads to skipped stitches if the tension isn't right or the needle is dull.</summary>

my started acting funny, and i popped out everything i could and took one of those compressed air canisters to it.&#xD;
works just fine now.&#xD;

suddenly, the machine is skipping stitches!  it's an old old singer, industrial one, and was going along fine when it started creaking in the bobbin case and skipping a few stitches.  i then oiled it a tiny bit and the noise stopped, but now it skips more stitches than it makes....&#xD;
&#xD;
any thoughts?</summary>
