Fri, November 28, 2008 - 12:54 AMI stuffed a leg of lamb (yes, it was quiet) with wild rice, chestnuts, garlic & rosemary. Then pierced the meat and stuffed the holes with slivers of garlic and rubbed the outside w/ rosemary. Roasted it in ale w/ potatoes.

Re: Where are all the Craft Vixens?
Fri, November 28, 2008 - 2:14 AMI had to work yesterday. Thbbpt.
But my honey went to his sister's, and brought me a plate back and sat with me while I ate it, during my shift.
When I asked what she needed him to bring, she said she had most of it under control (she's a brilliant cook, and really smart about doing stuff ahead so she isn't out of her mind the day of) but did not have cranberry sauce or a second vegetable. Seeing as we'd just filled up the freezer with a bunch of veggie blends and had two bags of fresh cranberries, I told her I could help out with that.
It's hilarious how much Wow! you get for so little work, making homemade cranberry sauce. -

Re: Where are all the Craft Vixens?
Fri, November 28, 2008 - 11:37 AMI just made cranberry vinegar 12 oz. cranberries 1cup white vinegar 1cup sugar 1 cup water 1 cinnamon stick bring to a boil and simmer till berries POP! strain. Put into sterile jars( I use the fancy beer bottles w/bales or canning jars) makes great gifts. For an excellent vinegarette slowly wisk in olive oil to taste. YUMMMMMM

Sat, November 29, 2008 - 4:32 AMThis crafty vixen was pondering stuffing her bird with her husband if he didn't shut the hell up. His incessant bitching is earning him a spot on next years menu. GOBBLE, GOBBLE, GOBBLE! -

Re: Where are all the Craft Vixens?
Mon, December 1, 2008 - 8:27 PMI made a turkey ala Martha, with the butter and bourban-soaked cheesecloth baste. Perfect again, lord love her. Made a potato stuffing, shredded whites and sweets instead of bread, for me with wheat allergy, and it was pretty tasty, but needs tweaking. Cranberry chutney again too, always a hit. Fed at least a dozen and still have a couple of meals of leftovers. -

Re: Where are all the Craft Vixens?
Tue, December 2, 2008 - 12:47 AMBourban? Man, I saw her special on FLN this year and she did one with white wine that sounded good to me. Bourbon sounds even better - how much do you use of each? Potato stuffing sounds interesting, I might have to try playing with that one myself. I've had rice stuffing before and thought it was good.
