Hey, does anyone make this photo jewelry? I found this link and I'm interested in making some, but I was wondering if it's really hard? Seems like there are a lot of supplies...

Re: Photo jewelry
04/14Those look like special frames they sell. The kits seem overly complicated.
Here is a similar product to the one shown:
www.delphiglass.com/dimensio...ames.html
BUT! You can make a similar look by sandwiching your photo b/w glass (either single strength or extra thin) and wrapping it with a copper foil tape and soldering on a ring or gluing on a bail.
It's NOT hard. If you have a good glass shop near you, they may even cut the glass pieces for you (We do it LOTS :))
You can get the foil tape in copper (meaning you have to solder all the way around if you want it silver) or silver (meaning you just have to solder on a bail.....or you can avoid the big hot stick and just glue on a bail).
I would be more than willing to help you figure out this project! It is very popular right now and I'm putting together a class for this this summer through my shop. Any more questions welcome!

Re: Photo jewelry
04/14In looking at the jewelry kit, it seems like you attach the photo print to the frame surface with some kine of drip-proof superglue gel, and when it's dry, pour a blob of some sort of 2-part epoxy or resin over that to enclose it. I'm just guessing though- I used to use resin poured over printed labels to make doggie ID tags. -

Re: Photo jewelry
04/14I looked around the site a little more, and it is what I thought. If you click on the "What is Photo Jewelry?" image on the left side of the page, you can look at their FAQs and other links. Loads of instructions there.
