I will look into the proper coatings as well and see if that might be a better route, especially since I am concerned about it changing color. (and that has ever stopped me?) but, i guess my concern would be... I am really rough on jewlery and i would likely chip the nail polish off with use... and then it might get a blotchy oxidation spots. I am imagining a ring, but, i guess on other things it might hold up better. i just think there is a really good product out there somewhere. . I searched here and found a post about coating copper jewelry with something specifically made to protect it (and the wearer's skin). What I'm wondering is, how do you all think using clear nail polish on a silvertone metal (locket from Michael's) would work? I want to keep it from changing color since it's not real silver, as well as protect the wearer's skin in case it leaves a mark. Has anyone ever tried this and did it work out well, and last for a long time? For what it's worth, I've used colored nail polish on metal before (usually buttons or barrettes) and it worked great.
