I want something that will be really soft. I was thinking lambskin maybe, but I really haven't decided yet. I may just end up working with whatever I can get in the right colors.

Using a leather needle is very important. if you have trouble with the leather sticking to your foot, (not moveing through) try placing a piece of wax paper under and a piece over your leather before placing it in your machine, this will aid in movement and tears off easy after sewing is finished. Depending on what you are trying to make, becareful how many layers of leather, my machine will sew through 3 layers no more, and I have also had to learn to slow down, going fast increases your chances of breaking your needle

what type of leather are you talking about.? I use a leather/jean needle.. but it depends on what type of leather I'm using ..I like Deer, Moose, and buffalo the best..depending on what I'm making....some pig for lighter stuff..it also comes in the most colors....

Has anyone ever sewn leather in their sewing machine? I just ordered a book that gives some tips, but I am impatient and was wondering anyone here had any tips on the topic.
