betrothal bag

topic posted Sun, March 9, 2008 - 9:12 PM by  Amy
hey, remember that scene in "borat," where our hero takes an embroidered bag and whaps it over pamela anderson's head? "agreement not necessary."

well, i'm getting married in july, and dammit, I want my intended to chase me around the reception with a betrothal bag.

But I can't find a closeup of the bag, and I can't figure out how to contact the producers to find out who made it, and I just don't know where to start.

Who wants to help me figure out how I can make or order a borat-style betrothal bag??

this bag? it looks like a big potato sack size....with loads of tacky fringe...especially the little hanging balls on the edges...my memere had loads of that type of stuff. You could get some decorative applique flowers for the decoration along the sides.

i would make some mock ups so you don't end up with something too small that will be hard to get over all of your bridal head gear.

i want to see pictures when it's finished!!!

looks like it's just a giant pillowcase, longer in proportions, with decorative trims. :) I would think that's easy to make. as Lyla said, just do a test run with your dress and headwear on to make sure it's big enough. you could always add side gussets if needed.

      very funny.

hmmmm..... IF (please note I said "if") you decide to divorce him will you spit on his shoe 3 times and say, "I break with thee. I break with thee. I break with thee"?

Wasn't that an Andy Kaufman-Carol Kane moment in Taxi?

I never saw Borat before seeing that clip. I'm so glad.
