Re: cool not cheesy crochet
Mon, October 24, 2005 - 9:05 PMWhen I was little, my mom used to buy Japanese crochet books. They were almost like magazines and she bought them in Japantown in SF. They had really neat designs in them but they were in Japanese BUT they had drawings of how to do the designs so that's how she figured it out.

Re: cool not cheesy crochet
Tue, October 25, 2005 - 1:28 PMshoot i forget the magazine title, (Crochet world?) but I found table cloths and curtains in some of them. I have made 2 table cloths. 1 for my mom when i was uhmm 19 and the 2nd i gave to my ex mom in law 6 years ago. to say the truth, they do make quite a statement. My mom still brings it out hers during the holidays. The curtains didn't quite come out as i'd liked... a bit too small and they shrink a bit after washing. -

Fri, October 28, 2005 - 10:55 AMI've bought plenty of used books from Amazon and they have almost always been in excellent condition. You can always check in your public library to see if they have some good crochet books.
