I've never heard it was unsafe to wear them while pregnant. Gold especially is a pretty inert substance. I can't see what harm could come, especially if you are not using other chemicals or fire.

i was pregnant with my middle child and taking painting and jewelry classes with no problems. And doing it at home also. I even made sure with my ob first. We have a lot of chemical plants down here in here in Louisiana and many of her patients work there with no problems. Use the typical precautions and you should do fine. If you are worried about the residue on your hands you could try latex/non latex "surgical" gloves.
I'd say the only thing you have to worry about is the baby becoming hooked on jewelry making and taking over all your supplies! lol

I think as long as you stay away from lead, you'll be fine...

I recently found out that I am pregnant with our 3rd child, and of course, I am concerned! This may sound dumb, but what about lead crystal products? Are these safe to work with? Help! I have a GORGEOUS new shipment of beads that I'm dying to get my hands on! Also, I purchased a bunch of colored glass pearls from fire-mountain gems and noticed the odor to be quite strong. Could these be dangerous as well? I am just a bit confused at the moment! Thanks!!!!
